How to reduce condenser fan noise
Sickle profiles, winglets, EPS and proper tip clearance allow quieter operation at the same airflow.

Where noise comes from
Most fan noise comes from vortices at the blade tips and from the gap between blade and shroud. Noise rises quickly with speed.
Changing the profile
Switching from an airfoil to a sickle profile gives noticeably quieter operation at the same airflow. On Z-hub systems, for example, 1Z, 2Z2 or 7Z can be considered instead of 4Z.
Winglets, EPS and tip clearance
Winglet tips reduce tip vortices. EPS flexible extensions minimise the tip clearance between blade and shroud. Choosing a diameter that exactly fits the venturi ring both lowers noise and raises efficiency.
Speed control
Moving to EC fans or running the existing fan with speed control saves both energy and noise at part load.
