Replacing fan blades on construction machinery: what to watch
A broken or worn blade compromises engine cooling. A checklist for the right part, balance and assembly.

When to replace?
Cracked, broken or tip-worn blades reduce cooling and can damage bearings and radiators through imbalance. Stone and dust impacts are the most common cause of damage on construction machines.
Finding the right part
Note the code on the hub label, the profile marking at the blade root (e.g. PMAX4, 5ZL) and the diameter. Even if only one blade is replaced, all blades must share profile, material and pitch; ideally replace the full set.
Assembly and balance
Fit all blades at the same angle and tighten hub bolts crosswise to the correct torque. If you feel vibration after assembly, recheck the angles. On viscous clutch systems, it is a good moment to check the clutch as well.
