How to set the fan blade pitch angle

More pitch means more airflow but also more motor load. How to find and safely set the right angle.

What does pitch change?

As pitch increases, each blade pushes more air per revolution, raising airflow and pressure. But absorbed power rises quickly too. Increasing pitch arbitrarily “for a bit more air” can overload the motor and overheat its windings.

How is the right pitch determined?

The right pitch depends on motor power, speed, diameter and system resistance (coil, radiator, guard). The pitch of your current impeller is usually printed on the label and the system was designed for it. If you target a different duty point, send us the motor nameplate and target airflow.

When adjusting

All blades must have the same angle, otherwise vibration occurs. On blades with a pitch pin, seat the pin in the correct hole and tighten hub bolts to the specified torque. Measuring motor current after assembly is a good check.
